Anyone have any ideas for rail travel across Canada?
I see that Canada-Viarail offers a passage from the railing, just as to Europass in Europe. Sounds like fun, anyone have experiences good / bad relations with transit through Canada by train? It seems it would be a great way trvel through the Rockies … thaks in advance ..
Yes, its a great way to travel. In 2002, I took the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Banff and then transported by bus to the Icefields Parkway, which is often referred to as the journey on the scenic route over the world to Jasper then took the Via Rail in Toronto, and later took other trains in Montreal and Quebec City and Halifax so I'm all done enough the country by train and it was very pleasant It is a train that goes directly from Vancouver to Jasper, but I think the landscape may not be as in So breathtaking I suggest you invest in a cab if you want to go through Jasper to Toronto, as it takes two days / three nights but you can make a stop on the way to Edmonton so therefore it might not be entirely necessary, it is a book by Melissa Graham called Trans-Canada Rail Guide I found very useful and I know its available on Amazon.com Have a great trip.I think you will
