I’m going to do Eastern Europe by train next summer.Can anyone help with safety tips?I’ll be a lone traveler.
I’m going to be railing through some Western European countries, but I really want to see the Eastern ones. I’m a single girl traveling alone. What does one think about night trains and such. Any information will be helpful and appreciated. I’m on a tight budget, but won’t give up safety for cash. Any tips?
You’ll enjoy your trip and make many friends. Unusual as it may seem for a single girl to travel alone, it’s not dangerous. Actually, night trains are not recommended in Hungary and Romania with notorious thefts going on. But people who tar the whole of ex-Yugoslavia with the same brush, are just not updated and have no actual experience. Serbia is a safe place according to all official sources, and the number of tourists is becoming high as it was before the war. I’ve had so many foreign friends visiting this year, and most of them extended their stay.
No special tips for safety, just apply normal ways of precaution and you’ll love&enjoy your stay.
