I am looking for the most popular destination at a reasonable price in Europe for about a week's holiday in October 2008.?

My wife and I would like finally go to Europe for our anniversary in 2008. Anyone have any reccomendations for a reasonable price wise destination? We'd need air RT Houston, TX and the hotel, rail passes or car rental etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ireland would be our first choice, but if there is something cheaper, we would certainly know that. Nothing is off the table for Russia to Spain. Thank you!

In October, a good destination will be Italy or Spain. Is still warm but not hot and not too expensive. Typically for price Northern Europe (Scandinavia) and is more expensive than the west in the south and east. The cheapest countries are Ukraine, Romania and Albania. But if you went there, I think you'd be very disappointed, as the reason why these countries are cheap is bc the people are poor. Now I do not know not how long you have, but if you have three weeks I propose to spend two weeks in Spain and a week in Morocco. You entered Madrid and rent a car. You can visit South Spain (Granada, Toledo, Gibraltar) before dropping the car and heading by train and ferry to Morocco. Morocco is much cheaper than Spain and see the country could make you appreciate and understand Spanish and Mexican heritage better. (Plus you can say you've been to Africa.) Otherwise, you could go to Italy. Railpasses are a waste of money in Italy, you should just buy tickets point-to-point, it is cheaper. You would need 2 weeks to see the highlights. For a short one-week trip, I suggest you visit Portugal, Andalusia (Southern Spain) or Hungary. Hungary is the cheapest. For Hungary, you can fly to London or Frankfurt, then take a budget flight to Budapest. You could do a combined Budapest-Bratislava-Vienna travel, using trains and boats to travel along the Danube. Airfare from Houston should be in the range of $ 800 per person. October is not the high season, so it should not be too difficult to get a decent price. For your stay you need to budget of approximately EUR 200 per day for both of you if you stay at hotels and hostels and eating out. You can also look into renting a motorhome or is taking camping gear (tent, sleeping bags) with you. Staying in campgrounds (or homes) is much cheaper than staying in hotels, it could reduce the cost your trip in half. Rental cars must be booked in a package with theft by a travel agent. Bon Voyage Special organizations can help you "fly + Drive "packages with significantly reduced costs of renting the car.

Europe Rail Vacation

European or American professional life?

What is the best? Western Europeans work fewer hours of vacation have more time and get free healthcare. On average, most jobs in Western Europe pay more than similar roles in the U.S. except for management positions and boardroom. It has also become easier for low wages in Western Europe to achieve leadership positions room and board than it is in the U.S. runs counter to the "traditional land of opportunity" ideal. But the American system has many advantages. Road, rail and air travel is higher as is the service sector. Plants and agriculture is more effective and the rate of alcoholism and addiction are much lower in the U.S.

I am an American who has worked both in Europe the United States. In Europe, there was something that pleased me more than the United States and some I liked less. Europeans definitely have a better attitude toward the holidays. Two weeks vacation seemed to be the norm here and the attitude has been to take all your vacation and enjoy. In the U.S., the attitude respect of holiday is a bit more confrontational. Of course, everyone is encouraged to go on vacation, but nobody takes more than a week (unless you get married or start a family). It's just one of those things. Europe also has ridiculous tax rates which, in my opinion, is an incentive not to work from. I think that is a reason why people are so happy to take time off work. In America, taxes are lower if you keep more of what you do. Thus, the more you work, the more you do (in general). This is one reason why so many Americans work. Moreover, From an overall economic perspective, the more your employees work best the economy as a whole. In general, the U.S. is the case a lot more friendly than most of Europe. Access to capital labor movement, etc. .. everything is easier for the United States. Do not get me however. I think the European system has its strengths. happy workers are productive employees. But overall, I understand the American system more.

European Travel Question (s).?

I plan to travel to Europe for my summer vacation. I was wondering what are the best options for me when it comes to travel within Europe. Is the rail system or a less expensive bus system??? For those of you who have traveled in Europe before please let me know what you have taken options and how you have traveled within Europe.

Basically, you have a number of options. The most obvious are air, train and bus. It there are alternatives, such as hitchhiking or rent a car, but they are far between and depending on where you are going and what country you are in. For I think it depends on the amount of time you have and the programming of transportation options. cheap airline tickets and connections, see: http://www.skyscanner.net/ For a train schedule, visit: http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz/vlaky/spojeni/ (it's a Czech site, but you can find train times across Europe; click on the flag of the United Kingdom on one hand the lower right corner to see the site in English) to get the bus schedule and fares, visit https: / / Or www.elines.cz/en/ http://www.studentagency.eu/ hope this helps,
