What is best for family travel in Europe – by train or rental car? We have only two weeks.?
For many people becomes a financial decision. In Europe, especially now, the price of gas is extremely high. This, coupled with very high tolls on major roads (eg, France), you may find the offer price band of German rail system (Deutsche Bahn) to consider. Add to that the cost of parking a car in the center (sometimes up to $ 17 for a few hours) added a pinch the wallet. The train system is efficient, the trains are clean, no thugs on the trains, a tracking camera person and surveillance stations and often pleasant to use on their own. Travelling by car across the border (from Germany) to the Czech Republic has been described by some (including myself) as completely intractable: the roads are not modern trucks are slow, and reaching: difficult to find parking.
