If I take a German rail pass for 5 days, then I still need to make reservations and buy tickets?
I will travel between December 21 (Friday) – December 26 (Wednesday) and take advantage. I plan to visit Berlin, Munich, Dachau, Garmisch. I will land at Frankfurt
With Railpass you paid all your travel by rail. There are very few trains in Germany, especially those crossing borders, which have reservation mandatory. But for the holidays, I recommend booking for long distances. Otherwise, it may happen that you're standing on the train from Berlin to Munich. To Munich to Dachau (regional train) a reservation is not possible. For ICE / IC from Munich to Garmisch it is not necessary. There are regional exress trains on that line too. In the Frankfurt airport you can hop on board long distance trains and regional trains. But beware: regional trains leave tracks from January to March directely in the terminal, long-distance trains have their own station, 5 minutes walk.
