europe rail schedule Europe Rail Schedule
rail passes in Europe …?

If I have a portion of the railing, and decide to go (for example) of Bologna, Italy to Rome, Italy, do I pay a supplement or a reservation? Google says it is almost 4 hours away, but the train schedule says it may do so by 2.5-3 hours. In fact, my question is, what trains are "free" to use my train pass global, and require supplements and reservations? Thank you.

ES (Eurostar) range from Bologna to Rome in about 2 1 / 2 hours. They require a reservation and perhaps an additional or booking fee. The local / regional trains take 5 1 / 2 to 7 1 / 2 hours from Bologna to Rome and to demand change trains. They would not need a reservation with a railpass and you just get on. Make sure to write the date before the driver comes. You search the timetable on http://www.trenitalia.com Click Details to see if reservations are required.
