Did anyone find tickets Eurail be a scam?
I bought a Eurail Pass 3 days in Italy for my wife and me, which cost 306 euros. I traveled to Rome-Florence Florence-Venice and Venice-Milan (a typical tourist itinerary, in my opinion). Each segment required an extra 30 euros since we went on high speed trains, bringing our total cost of 396 Euro. When I travel prices have individually, the total cost to the TRIPS exactly the same, in exactly the same class (1) was 256 euros, which USD is a scam of about $ 200. Eurail has not yet responded to my request, but I do not expect good results. My advice to anyone intending to do is get on the Trenitalia website and price your itinerary before you buy Eurail passes. There is a reason that only people come from outside Europe can buy these … because the locals know they are a tourist scam! Has anyone experienced this?
I think your criticism is too harsh. You might even yourself that each of your routes is only about 250 km – not a great distance, even in Europe. This is not the fault of Eurail you chose this route and you want to use the fastest trains available. Probably you could Palermo – Napoli – Milan – Roma (I do not know if your ticket was only limited to Italy, perhaps you could also have disappeared Roma – Madrid – Paris – Berlin) with your ticket as well, and that way your Eurail ticket would have saved money. As a European, I can Eurail say that is a privilege to tourists from overseas – an option that I did not. If you use the wrong "because it is not Eurail. And if you do not want to do the research yourself in advance you better contact a travel agent next time. Sorry for this comment, but I think your criticism is inadequate.
