Best way to travel, Eurail or Eurolines?
I will travel to Europe this summer for about a month. I intend to fly in London, then to go to Belgium (Brussels and Bruges), Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Venice, Rome, Florence, Nice, Paris and London to get home. I would buy less than 15 days pass hose. It looks like Eurolines is cheaper costs $ 295. Eurail is $ 695 and it seems they have many additional costs for reservations and more. From experience, what is the best way to travel? How comfortable / uncomfortable train vs. bus are? Do buses take much longer to travel between cities that rail? I also know that the passage of the rail does not travel destination and Prague. What is the best way to travel there? I am open to any advice on traveling throughout Europe. Thank you! I'll be there for a month … I would buy the 15 days pass. It is 15 days travel in two months. I would just use 15 days in the month of travel.
Have a lot of good advice the only thing I miss in their responses is a good link to a planner railway good. Enter your travel details on this page: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?newrequest=yes&protocol=http: & R and it comes a red reservation necessary, change the means of transport without ICE or even local transport. If you still prefer use the train with the reserve necessary, you know you're gonna have to pay extra. I think the site can even tell you how much in all cases, but I'm not even sure of that. The bus can be a good option, but especially if you have plenty of time, most long distance journeys are overnight, options with only one or two a day instead of hourly railways. If you're the kind of person who can sleep anywhere and are short of money, bus pass is certainly an option. Page Eurolines has a travel planner too, find time for the bus between each of the cities on your list (in the order you want to travel.) And also remember that the train to and from London is not included in your package rail, and the reduction you get on the Notes is less than the savings if you book tickets when the first arrived for sale (2 or 3 months before travel) and you manage to get the cheapest tickets for the train. (But those who do sell very quickly.) 12 cities within a month is still pushing it, I cut some of the destinations who are away from other, giving you more time in places that you left. London and Paris need 3 full days each at least, other cities in your list 2 full days. (Often, this is 3 nights.) And with only visit the main cities (capitals for the most part too), you miss the real Europe, villages and small towns. I would like to review your plans and remember that Europe is here to stay, intention to return to see more.
