If I buy 4 country Eurail Pass, can I just show up for a train and we hope it is not full?
Or Is there a way to reserve a spot with the pass?
In some countries in Europe, a ticket does not guarantee a seat. You must make reservations for a seat on a particular train. It costs a bit more but its worth it. When you buy your Eurail ask what is the procedure to book a place.
