With rising gasoline prices will never train a realistic alternative to flying when traveling in the U.S.?
Gas Prices are increasing and now the airlines are making customers pay to register their baggage. Why do you think is the USA we have yet to change or at least the revival of our rail system? Japan announces Europe's high speed trains and they are an excellent alternative cheap to fly. Of course, you will fly to international travel, but imagine if Canada and the United States were linked by rail iron at high speed! Awesome I say.
The problem in the right rail is now, they spend billions in infrastructure to improve which has been in disrepair for years because of government regulations and currently very high speed "public" transportation is not a priority. Now, with the enormous amount of intermodal traffic, the railways are such that their rail system can manage 85 mph traffic that could be the springboard for high-speed rail. If the govermnent wanted people to minimize the line to help ease the crisis oil and reducing global warming, they would get funding, actual funding to explore and enter a motion of the country a service high speed rail that would make sense for Americans.
